Founding Partner, Managing Director

David Tawil is a Founding Partner and Managing Director of the Private Wealth San Antonio Office. With expertise in portfolio management and trust/estate planning, David focuses on building customized solutions for high-net-worth individuals, families, foundations and endowments tailored to their individual goals. David has held numerous leadership positions over his 28 years in the financial services industry, but he is most proud of helping to found Private Wealth, creating a culture where clients truly come first. David co-chairs the Private Wealth Investment Committee and leads the Marketing Committee for the firm.

Outside of work, David enjoys fitness, playing golf, cooking and spending time with family and friends. He and his wife, Jodi, have four daughters who are currently in high school and college, as well as a new Goldendoodle named Scottie.

What quality/qualities make you stand out to your clients or coworkers?

First and foremost, trust. That is paramount in any relationship you are building for long-term success. Also, the ability to listen. You have to be able to learn and understand before you can truly help someone. No two clients are alike, and not having preconceived notions or ideas helps you focus on what is right for that particular client.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment at Private Wealth?

As a founding partner of the firm, I’m most proud of creating a firm and culture where clients truly come first and are at the center of everything we do.

What are your hobbies or favorite things to do in your free time?

Golf, fitness, cooking and spending time with my family and friends.

What motivates you or makes you happiest in your role?

Seeing people achieve their goals. Whether it’s a small goal or a large milestone, it is extremely meaningful.

What is the best piece of financial advice you ever received?

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Stay disciplined and focused on your goals and objectives and what is right for you.
