Half-Way There!
As we swing through July, I’m struck by how quickly 2025 is flying by—and how much we’ve already accomplished together. With half the year behind us, it’s a natural moment to pause, reflect, and recalibrate.
At Private Wealth, our commitment is not only to guide our clients through market cycles, life transitions, and legacy planning, but to do so with intention and clarity. This year has brought both challenges and opportunities across the financial landscape, and I’m proud of how our team has continued to lead with wisdom, precision, and purpose.
The mid-year point is also a personal checkpoint. It’s a reminder to ask ourselves the same questions we ask our clients: Are we aligned with our values? Are we on track to meet our goals? Are we being proactive about what comes next?
As we move into the second half of 2025, I encourage each of you—whether you’re a client, a partner, or a teammate—to look forward with confidence. Whether you’re preparing for retirement, building generational wealth, or growing your business, know that we are here, walking beside you, with a plan as tailored as your vision.
Here’s to a strong finish to the year, and to the continued pursuit of something greater—financial freedom with purpose.
Warmly,
Kim

Tim’s Book Summary
📚 Book Spotlight: Think Again by Adam Grant review by Tim Durbin
A Timeless Read on Staying Open in a Fast-Changing World
Originally published in 2021, Think Again by Adam Grant remains one of those rare books that grows more relevant with time. Its central message? The power—and necessity—of rethinking. In an age of constant change, Grant argues that being willing to question your own beliefs isn’t just a virtue—it’s a strategy for success.
While Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink celebrates instinct and first impressions, Think Again offers the perfect counterbalance: a reminder that learning thrives when we embrace uncertainty and stay curious. Grant encourages us to find “the joy of being wrong,” making a compelling case for lifelong intellectual humility.
The book opens with a gripping deep-dive into the fall of BlackBerry—a cautionary tale of how even the most innovative companies can become too confident in yesterday’s wins. From there, it’s a thought-provoking journey through psychological blind spots, impostor syndrome, and what Grant cleverly calls “Mount Stupid”—the peak of overconfidence before real understanding begins.
You’ll find captivating stories throughout, including the real-life tale of Daryl Davis, a Black musician who persuaded members of the KKK to leave the organization through conversation and empathy, and the unsettling origin story behind a famous psychology experiment at Harvard.
And just when you think you’ve absorbed enough insight, Grant closes with a generous bonus: 30 practical takeaways designed to help you challenge assumptions, lead with curiosity, and stay adaptable in both work and life.
If you’re looking for a thoughtful gift—or a personal reset—Think Again is a standout recommendation in a world that needs a little more open-minded thinking.
Big Hits, Bold Flavors & Even Better Company
A Tailgate to Remember at the College World Series!
What do you get when you combine a championship-level event, powerhouse partnerships, and perfect summer vibes? A tailgate party for the books. This June, Private Wealth Asset Management proudly hosted an unforgettable Tailgate Party alongside our friends at CFO Systems right here at our Omaha office during the Men’s College World Series—and let’s just say, Omaha showed up!
With great food, ice-cold drinks, and even better conversations, it was a day filled with laughter, networking, and good old-fashioned summer fun. The energy was electric, the crowd was lively, and we couldn’t have asked for better company.
🙌 A Few Special Thank-Yous:
To CFO Systems – thank you for your partnership and for helping us bring the big-game spirit to our own backyard.
To our PWAM Omaha team – your hard work and hospitality made this event feel like home base.
To Brickway Brewery & Distillery – your craft drinks were the real MVPs (Most Valuable Pints), keeping spirits high all afternoon. And to the city of Omaha, thank you for being the beating heart of this event. There’s no place like this during the CWS!
As the cheers echoed from the stadium, we were reminded that true teamwork doesn’t just happen on the field—it happens in the connections we build, the partnerships we foster, and the communities we celebrate. Here’s to more moments like this: where strategy meets celebration and relationships are built one tailgate at a time.
Diapers, Wipes & Big Hearts
PWAM Midland supports children in foster care through meaningful action! Earlier this month, our Private Wealth Midland team turned compassion into action with a generous donation drive for TBHC Foster Care and Adoption.
With stacks of diapers, boxes of wipes, and hearts full of love, we had the honor of meeting Dana Holt, Regional Director of TBHC, to deliver these much-needed supplies to support children and families served by this vital organization. But this wasn’t just a handoff—it was a reminder of the power of community and care.
About TBHC:
Texas Baptist Home for Children (TBHC) is a faith-driven nonprofit organization that has been serving Texas families and children since 1910. Their mission is clear and powerful: to provide safe, loving, and stable homes for children in the foster care system, and to equip families with the support and resources they need to thrive.
